The “de-identification of personal information” is the main discussion topic for this conference. Taiwan leapt from its global open data ranking of 11th place to 1st place in 2015. At the same time, partial amendments to the Personal Information Protection Act were also passed on December 30th, 2015. How can we maintain the right to privacy despite these open data trends? The conference discussions will focus on the methods and risks involved in personal information de-identification. Relevant ministries, scholars, experts, social network participants and the Executive Yuan’s Youth Advisory Group have been invited to take part in the conference.
