Virtual World Law Adjustment Program Communication Platform Personal Information Collection and Usage Agreement

The Virtual World Law Adjustment Program Communication Platform (hereinafter referred to as the “Platform”) respects and protects your right to privacy. Please read through the Platform’s “Personal Information Collection and Usage Agreement” in order to better understand how the Platform collects, processes and uses your personal information.
I. Scope of Application
A. This “Personal Information Collection and Usage Agreement” for the Platform applies to the collection, processing and use of personal information through any contact or interaction (i.e. subscribing to the E-letter), submitting questions or suggestions to the Platform via phone, fax, or our website form.
B. The privacy policies of any third parties or outside websites apply with regard to protection of personal information when you visit any websites managed and operated by independent third parties linked on the Platform. The Platform bears no joint liability.
II. The Collection, Processing and Use of Personal Information
A. When you contact us or participate in various events, we will ask you to provide necessary personal information depending upon the nature of your business or event. Your personal information will be processed and used within the scope of that specific purpose. We will not utilize your personal information for other purposes without your written consent.
B. The Platform will collect information such as your name, e-mail and phone number when you contact us via the “Questions and Comments” function in order to respond to your inquiries.
C. If you subscribe to the Platform’s E-letter, the Platform will collect your e-mail for the purpose of sending out our E-letter.
D. The Platform will abide by related protocols and internal work procedures when processing your personal information. Necessary personnel supervision will be carried out according to information security protocols.
E. The Platform will not collect any information pertaining to your personal identity simply through browsing the Platform’s website or downloading files.
F. The personal information you provide will only be used by the Platform in the jurisdiction of the R.O.C., in a reasonable manner within the scope outlined above, until the purpose the information has been collected for no longer exists.
G. You can utilize our website (http://www.vtaiwan.org.tw) to contact us in order to exercise your right to inquire about, browse, request a copy of, amend or supplement, terminate collection/processing/use or delete of your personal information.
III. Sharing of Personal Information with Third Parties
A. The Platform will never provide, exchange, rent or sell any of your personal information to other individuals, organizations, private corporations or government agencies. This does not include parties whom we are legally or contractually obligated to.
B. Aforementioned situations that may arise include but are not limited to:
1. Legal investigations by judicial units.
2. Investigation or use by supervisory organizations as jurisdiction or necessity demands (such as the National Audit Office or an audit process).
3. A reasonable belief that disclosure of your personal information is required by law.
4. When your actions on our website violate our terms of service or may interfere with the rights of the Platform or other individuals and the need to disclose your personal information arises in order to identify, contact, or take legal action against you.
5. The Platform will fulfill the obligation to provide personal information based upon outsourced contracts.
C. When the Platform’s contractors assist in the collection, processing or use of your personal information, we will supervise and manage the contractors or individuals to the best of our ability.
IV. Cookie Use
A. In order to fulfill internal website management needs and provide an optimized, personalized service, the Platform utilizes browser cookies and records the IP address, activity time and times each item is queried for website traffic and online behavior analytics. Those browsing the website are not analyzed on an “individual” basis.
B. If you refuse the use of cookies, you can set your browser to disable cookies. However, this may impair the normal function of certain website functions.
V. Server Records
Our servers automatically record specific technical information when you access the Platform website via a web browser, app or other client. These server records may include your site requests, IP address, browser type, browser language, the date and time requests were submitted and more. These server records serve merely as a reference for the purpose of server management. The Platform does not analyze “individual” users through the use of these server records.
VI. Amendments to the Privacy Policy
This privacy policy may be amended at any time in compliance with the law, technological developments or adjustment of internal management systems to ensure your right to privacy and internet security. Amendments to the Platform’s terms of service will be published on our website immediately, with a clear indication for you to review these amended terms.
